Luis Fernández Salazar "Lucky Losada" / Spain
Luis Fernández Salazar "Lucky Losada" was born in Madrid into one of the most important Gypsy clans in the Flamenco scene. Very soon he began to play the cajon and at the age of 14 he became a professional.
His trajectory began in the tablaos of Madrid where he began to accompany legendary Flamenco figures. Antonio Canales recruited him for his dance company and he became part of the shows "Torero", "A Cuerda y Tacon", "Gitano" and "La Casa de Bernarda Alba", among others, on their tours around the world.
After eight years as a member of one of the most prestigious dance companies in Spain, Lucky went on to collaborate in other recording and musical projects with Enrique Morente, Diego el Cigala, El Potito amongst other renowned Flamenco singers as well as the dance companies of Eva la Yerbabuena, Sara Baras, Merche Esmeralda and Juana Amaya. Outside the strict sphere of Flamenco he has also collaborated with Rocio Jurado and Isabel Pantoja.
As a member of the guitarist TOMATITO´s sextet, he has toured the five continents, playing in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall London, Carnegie Hall New York and Parco Della Musica, Rome.
All the figures who have had the opportunity play with Lucky Losada say that he is a genius with a special gift allowing him to assume, maintain and express pure rhythm.
My decision to play La Rosa Percussion fundamentally is because the sound and the feel of their woods and construction adapt to my way of playing and feeling music thanks to the fact that La Rosa Percussion is in permanent contact with the percussionists and they are always accepting the advice of each one of us. They are able to create the perfect instrument to convey all the feelings you could possibly want from a cajon. Their cajons are works of art.
